Rimanakuy:Ch'iyar Juqhu

As most of the geographical names in this region are of Aymara origin and have a certain meaning the article should be moved to an appropriate Aymara name. The name of the mountain, known today as Chearoco or Chearaco, seems to have undergone some changes over the years so that the meaning of the word is hardly perceptible now. I suppose the mountain bears the same name as the nearby river Río Chiar Jokho (Spanish spelling).

Ch'iyar means black. It frequently appears in geographical names. Jokho - which also appears in geographical names like e.g. Jokho Pampa - is translated as húmedo (Spanish = humid). Jokho is the old spelling fot the Aymara word. In the new diccionaries we find juqhu translated into Spanish as lodazal, Adv. Lugar lleno de lodo. (Muddy place) and juq'u translated as Húmedo, mojado..

The original name of the mountain is probably Ch'iyar Juqhu or Ch'iyar Juq'u - or in one word Ch'iyarjuqhu or Ch'iyarjuq'u. -- CaTi0604 09:52 29 nuw 2011 (UTC)
